Do I need my ribs?

Alright Mate? Yep, that’s what we say over on this side of the pond. Where I say “Alright Mate” please read as “Hey”. So, my first update on how I am feeling. I am pretty active as you probably read from my first post. I run at least twice a week (around 2-6 miles), any more than that and my spine falls out with me. I train at least once a week and it’s usually fight training on punch bags and/or sparring. This keeps me fit and my body seems to respond really well to it. I try and get at least one session in a week on the weights just to keep myself ticking over. Daily I hit the sit-ups, press-ups and stretches. This is gold dust to me! Stretching is THE most important aspect of training for me.

Medication – At the moment my Doctor has put me on Arcoxia and I will be getting them Monday. At the moment I am struggling without. I have taken some Tramadol pain killers today and Ibuprofen to get by. My legs used to be THE pain but after exercising so much in the last 6 months they have become stronger and pretty much pain free. I am not saying this will help you all out there but it worked for me.

The only re-occurring pain I have is my right hand side of my ribs. It’s like a stabbing pain and if I could just rip out my ribs I would be perfect! I am pretty sure I need my ribs though…

I stupidly pushed myself on Saturday and ended up running a 10 mile trail and I think I am in pain today as a result. I have been bad since and not slept too well. When I lay down I get a stabbing pain in the right side of the rib cage to the rear and its uncomfortable breathing, this in turn makes sleeping difficult. I have had this pain for at least 3 years and it comes and goes after strenuous exercise.

So…that’s me for now. It is not all DOOM and GLOOM, when I feel good, I feel brilliant! I have a lot planned in the next couple of weeks. I have a camping trip to Wales (Nope it isn’t JUST a big fish in the sea, it’s also a country!) where I will be doing some serious sea fishing. I will post pictures!

Take it easy people!
