Athletes Joined Against Spondylitis/Team Fuse Announce Premier Clothing Sponsorship by Sandana for 2012/13
Sandana Paintball, creators of the iconic Sandana headgear and Venomwear apparel, have signed up Athletes Joined Against Spondylitis/Team Fuse to be on their team.
If you’ve talked to Wendy in the AJAS booth before, you already know that Athletes Joined Against Spondylitis (AJAS) is a nonprofit organization formed to raise awareness of a crippling form of arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis. AS strikes mostly young men between the ages of 15 and 35, and as of now there is no cure.
Through the AJAS Awareness booth and our two paintball teams — Team Fuse and Blind Aggression — we try to raise awareness of this disease and provide a role model for kids with disabilities through the personal example of Team Fuse captain Brian Warner — who has the disease.
“In the 17 years that I’ve been playing national level paintball, I’ve known the Sandana brand to be one of quality and integrity. Plus, their gear has been bad ass for as long as I’ve been playing,” says Warner. “I am excited that they have enlisted themselves in my cause so we can be soldiers for Sandana!”
“Brian Warner and the folks of AJAS are good people,” says Brian Boswell, president of Sandana. “I can’t say enough how glad I am to be affiliated with what they’re doing to raise awareness of this awful disease. I’m happy to help their cause with my gear.”
“We just passed our fifth anniversary,” says Wendy Beckman, AJAS communication director. “That’s incredible for nonprofits these days. Most fail their first year. Long term, our mission is to raise money for research into a cure and for to set up a fund for treatment of the uninsured and underinsured. In the meantime, we are busting our chops to get the word out. Stop by our booth at Cup and I’ll tell you all about it!”
The AJAS Awareness Booth will be at World Cup in the PSP Trade Show area. We will have brand new t-shirts — especially designed by Brian Boswell for this event — available as a premium for donations of $20 or more. Other Sandana items will be available, as well as AJAS/Sandana stickers and the popular “I KICK ASs” AJAS wristbands.
Brian Boswell has also donated Sandana paintball pants to be raffled off, with all proceeds going to AJAS. Raffle tickets are $10 each.
